Latest Sleeve Designs to Try With Kurtis
Forget boring sleeves! They’re the easiest way to transform a simple kurti into a fashion statement. In my experience, the trend has moved away from super-tight cuffs to more relaxed, architectural shapes.
The Draped Sleeve is my current obsession. It’s essentially a longer, wider sleeve that you gather and attach at the bicep or forearm, creating beautiful, soft folds. I remember a client who thought her plain black kurti was a lost cause; we added draped sleeves in a contrasting chiffon, and it became her favorite outfit!
Another huge trend is the Bell Sleeve with a Slit. It offers that dramatic flair but is way more practical than a full bell shape. Also, Puff Sleeves are still going strong, but now they’re subtler—think a small, delicate puff at the shoulder rather than a full-on 80s statement. The key is balance; if the sleeve is voluminous, keep the rest of the silhouette lean.
