Easy beaded edging for your blouse or top dress
Adding a beaded edge is my secret weapon for transforming a plain neckline or sleeve from “meh” to magnificent. It sounds fancy, but I promise, it’s one of the easiest ways to incorporate bling.

A Foolproof Method:
Plan Your Path: Use a water-soluble marker to lightly draw a line just along the edge where you want the beads to sit.
Thread & Needle: Use a fine beading needle and strong thread (like Nymo thread) that matches your fabric.
The Simple Stitch: Come up from the inside at your starting point. String 3-4 beads, push them down the thread, and take a tiny backstitch right after the last bead to secure them in a line. Continue this all the way along!
Pro Tip: Don’t string too many beads at once. Working in small sections gives you more control and prevents the thread from tangling.
This technique adds weight and a beautiful, shimmering finish that catches the light with every movement. It’s a detail that looks expensive but is wonderfully affordable to DIY.
