Stylish Sleeves Designs for Kurti Cutting and Stitching
The sleeve is the easiest place to add a major style update to any kurti! In my experience, you don’t need a whole new pattern—just modify the sleeve you already have. The trend is moving towards volume and drama.
The Dramatic Bell Sleeve: Simply extend the bottom hem of your sleeve pattern into a wide, flowing bell shape. The key is to cut the sleeve opening (the “armscye”) normally, so it fits your shoulder, and only let the flair explode from the elbow down. It’s elegant and playful.
The Cold-Shoulder with a Tie: Cut a horizontal slit on the sleeve, about 3-4 inches down from the shoulder seam. Then, attach a long fabric tie to each side of the slit. This lets you adjust the amount of shoulder shown and adds a flirtatious detail.
The Wide Lantern Sleeve: This is a fun, structured look. Cut your sleeve as a wide rectangle. Create a cuff at the wrist and a cuff at the elbow (or right below the shoulder). Gather the fabric between these two cuffs to create the “lantern” puff effect.
The best part? These can all be added to a simple, existing kurti pattern with just a few snips and extra fabric.
Stylish sleeves designs for kurti cutting stitching. Have you been thinking of getting a kurti but need a new style to flaunt? It’s not just about the type of kurti you’re looking for, or the colour, or even the print on it! However, silhouette is also an important role. Going beyond the concept of lengths and structure, we are talking about the sleeves that are now available in the market.
