Beautiful Newspaper decorative flower basket making at home
Newspaper is one of the most versatile crafting materials! Weaving a basket from it is not only eco-friendly but also creates a beautiful, rustic-chic piece for your home. I keep one on my desk for holding mail, and guests always ask where I bought it!
Weave Your Own:
Make “Paper Yarn”: Roll a sheet of newspaper diagonally around a skewer, gluing the end to secure. Make dozens of these sticks.
Weave the Base: Weave 8 sticks horizontally and 8 vertically in a tight check pattern. Glue the ends to secure.
Build the Sides: Bend the vertical strips upward. Take a new paper roll and start weaving it horizontally around the base, circling around and gluing as you go.
Finish: Fold the vertical strips over the top rim and glue them down inside. Seal with a mix of white glue and water for strength.
It’s a satisfying project that turns yesterday’s news into today’s storage solution.
