Beautiful Unique Neck Design Stitching Tutorial
The neckline is the crown of your garment. Moving beyond the basic round or V-neck can instantly make your outfit look designer. My favorite unique design right now is the Keyhole Neckline with a Ties. It’s surprisingly simple to stitch and adds a touch of playful elegance.

Here’s a quick tutorial:

The Cut: After cutting your front bodice piece, mark the center point at the neckline. Now, instead of cutting a straight line, mark a small circle or oval (about 1.5-2 inches in diameter) just below the center front neckline. Carefully cut it out.

Finish the Keyhole: Finish the raw edge of this circular cut-out with a narrow rolled hem or by using a small bias binding strip. This is the trickiest part—take it slow!

Create the Ties: Cut two long strips of fabric on the bias. Fold and press them like double-fold bias tape and stitch closed to create your ties.

Attach the Ties: Hand-stitch one end of each tie to either side of the keyhole opening. You can now criss-cross them or tie them into a cute bow.

This design works beautifully on kurtis, dresses, and blouses, offering an adjustable fit and a gorgeous, custom-made detail.
