DIY Pencil Holder from Drinking Straws and Toilet Paper Roll
Before you toss that empty toilet paper roll, let’s turn it into a fun, organized pencil holder! This is one of my favorite kid-friendly crafts because it’s so colorful and easy. I made these with my niece, and she loved choosing the color patterns.
Let’s Get Crafting!
Gather Supplies: You’ll need one toilet paper roll, a handful of plastic drinking straws, scissors, and strong glue.
Cut the Straws: Cut the straws into pieces that are the exact height of your cardboard roll.
Glue Them On: Cover the outside of the roll with glue. Start attaching the straw pieces side-by-side, pressing firmly until the entire outside is covered in a vibrant, textural pattern.
Create a Base: Cut a circle out of cardboard and glue it to the bottom of the roll to create a stable base. Let it dry completely.
You now have a quirky, eco-friendly organizer that’s perfect for a desk or craft room. It’s a brilliant way to upcycle and keep things tidy!
