Those leftover popsicle sticks are a crafting goldmine! Making a basket is a classic for a reason—it’s easy, functional, and so satisfying. It’s the perfect project for organizing small items on your desk or holding napkins on the table.

The Simple Weaving Method:

Build the Base: Lay down several sticks side-by-side. Glue two sticks perpendicularly across the top and bottom to hold them together, creating a solid base.

Build the Sides: Run a bead of glue along the edge of the base. Start standing sticks up vertically, side-by-side, to form the walls. Hold them in place until the glue sets.

Reinforce the Top: Once the glue is dry, glue one final popsicle stick around the top inside edge to stabilize the entire structure and give it a finished look.

Paint or Stain: Leave it natural for a rustic look, or paint it any color you like! You can even add a handle by gluing sticks together in a layered arch.

It’s a wonderful, low-cost way to get into woodcraft and create something genuinely useful.
