Quilling Earrings Drop Using a Hair Comb
This has to be one of the most clever upcycling crafts I’ve tried! I turned a broken wide-tooth comb into a pair of stunning, lightweight statement earrings. The comb’s teeth provide the perfect, ready-made structure for quilling.

You’ll need: An old plastic hair comb, quilling paper strips, a quilling tool, earring hooks, jump rings, and strong glue.

Let’s get creative:

Create the Base: Carefully break off two equal-sized sections of the comb, each with 3-4 teeth. These will be your earring bases.

Quill Shapes: Make small, tight quilled circles, teardrops, and marquise shapes in your chosen color scheme. Make a variety of sizes.

Assemble the Dangle: Take a jump ring and slide it through the hole at the top of the comb section. Now, start gluing your quilled shapes onto the teeth of the comb. Layer them, mix colors, and create a clustered, floral effect. Let the glue dry completely.

Attach the Hook: Finally, use the jump ring to attach the entire piece to an earring hook.

The result is a unique, bohemian, and incredibly lightweight pair of earrings that are perfect for summer. No one will ever guess they started life as a hair comb
