Simple & Stylish Round Dori Neck Design
The round dori (cord) neck is incredibly popular because it’s minimalist yet deeply traditional. It’s essentially a round neckline with two strings attached at the center-front to tie into a bow.
Why it works: It’s playful, adjustable, and adds a focal point without heavy embroidery. I’ve seen it dominate casual wear collections this year.
To make it:
Construct a standard round neck kurti.
Instead of a traditional slit, create a small keyhole opening at the center front, about 2-3 inches down.
Attach two sturdy, decorative cords (you can make your own by braiding embroidery floss) on either side of the keyhole on the inside. That’s it! You now have a stylish, versatile neckline.
