6 Creative Ideas to Recycle Plastic Bottles
We all have them, so let’s get creative! Recycling plastic bottles into crafts is a fun way to be kind to the planet. I’ve tried most of these, and the herb planters are a permanent feature on my kitchen windowsill.
Vertical Garden: Cut bottles in half, punch drainage holes, and hang them on a wall or fence. Perfect for growing herbs and strawberries.
Pen & Makeup Brush Holder: Simply cut the top off a clean bottle and decorate the outside with paint, yarn, or fabric. It’s an instant organizer.
Bird Feeder: This is a classic! Cut openings on the sides of a bottle, add perches below them with sticks, and fill it with birdseed.
Piggy Bank: Use the entire bottle. Cut a coin slot on the side and get creative painting it to look like a pig, a monster, or a rocket ship.
Drip Irrigator: Poke small holes in a bottle cap, bury the bottle upside down next to a plant, and fill it with water. It provides slow, deep watering.
Chandelier: This is an ambitious one! Cut the bottoms off numerous colored bottles and string them together with lights inside for a stunning outdoor light fixture.
