6 Strand Diamondback Braid
This braid is a showstopper! It looks like an intricate piece of jewellery woven into your hair. While it seems advanced, it’s just a variation on a classic French braid with two extra strands. Don’t be intimidated!

The secret is in the setup: Divide a section of hair into six equal strands instead of three.

The Foundation: Start with a standard three-strand braid for two passes to secure it.

Add the Pattern: Now, instead of crossing the outer strand over the middle, you’ll cross the second strand from the right over two strands, then under one. Then, cross the second strand from the left over two, under one.

Repeat: Continue this pattern, always picking up the second strand and crossing it over two, under one. This is what creates the distinctive diamond pattern in the center.

It takes practice, but once you get the rhythm, it’s a fantastic technique for adding serious wow-factor to a half-up hairstyle.
