How to Make a Woolen Flower Table Mat
Forget buying expensive home decor! Making a woolen flower mat is one of my favorite cozy crafts. It’s surprisingly simple and so rewarding. I remember making a set for my sister, and they’re still her most commented-on piece.

You’ll need: wool yarn (felted wool works best!), a yarn needle, sharp fabric scissors, and a non-slip mat for the base (optional).

Here’s the easy process:

Create the Flowers: Cut wool yarn into 4-5 inch pieces. Group about 15-20 pieces together. Tie another piece of yarn tightly around the very center of this bundle. This is your flower core!

Fluff & Shape: Fan out the strands evenly around the center tie. Now, meticulously fold each strand back toward the center, creating the petals. It will look messy at first, but trust the process!

Secure & Attach: Once you’re happy with the flower shape, secure the back with a few hidden stitches. Then, simply whip-stitch your beautiful wool flowers onto a pre-cut felt circle or square. Cluster them together for a lush, textured look.

It’s a perfect way to use up yarn scraps and add a handmade touch to your home.
