Got a stack of old CDs gathering dust? Don’t recycle them just yet! They’re the perfect shiny base for a fantastic, eco-friendly art project. I made one of these with my niece, and it now hangs in her room, catching the light and looking absolutely magical.

Here’s how to create your own disco-era masterpiece:

You’ll need: Old CDs, strong glue (E6000 works great), acrylic paints, string, and any decorative items you like—think beads, broken costume jewelry, sequins, or dried flowers.

Prep the Surface: Lightly sand the shiny side of the CD with rough sandpaper. This helps the paint and glue adhere much better. Wipe off any dust.

Get Creative: This is the fun part! You can:

Paint a Mandala: The CD is already a perfect circle. Use acrylic paints to create a beautiful, intricate mandala design.

Create a Mosaic: Break another CD into small pieces and glue them onto your base CD to form a sparkling mosaic pattern.

Go 3D: Glue on beads, buttons, or jewels to create a textured, sculptural piece.

Assembly: Once your design is dry, flip the CD over and glue a loop of string to the back for hanging. Create a cluster of 3-5 decorated CDs at different heights for a truly stunning effect.
