Latest Design Sleeves: Cutting & Stitching
Sleeves are the biggest trend in fashion right now—they’re the new focal point! Forget basic cuts; it’s all about architectural shape and playful details.

Cutting & Stitching Ideas:

The Exaggerated Lantern Sleeve: This involves cutting a wide, billowy sleeve and then adding a gathered cuff at the wrist and often at the elbow too, creating a beautiful “lantern” shape. It’s dramatic and modern.

The Statement Puff: The puff sleeve is back, but bigger. The key is to cut the sleeve cap extra high and wide. You’ll need to stitch in a strong elastic inside the hem to create that dramatic, gathered puff effect at the shoulder.

The Cascading Ruffle: Cut a long, wide bias strip of fabric. Gather one edge and stitch it along the seam of a simple cap sleeve or from the shoulder down the arm. It adds incredible movement and femininity.

In my experience, making a mock-up with cheap muslin fabric first is essential to perfect the pattern before you cut into your good material.
