Latest Wall hanging Design – WOOLEN CRAFT – Easy DIY Craft – DIY Home Decor, woolen craft for home #woolencraft #diycraft #homedecor
Macramé had a great run, but the latest trend in wall art is all about textural woolen creations. Think less 1970s and more modern, tactile art. I’ve been seeing incredible wool-wrapped hoops and tufted designs all over interior design blogs like Apartment Therapy, and the best part is, they’re incredibly easy to make yourself.
My current favorite DIY is a Wool-Wrapped Dream Catcher / Mandala:
You’ll need: An embroidery hoop, scraps of chunky wool yarn in complementary colors, and your hands!
The Process is wonderfully simple:
Wrap the Hoop: Take your first color of yarn and tightly wrap it around the entire outer hoop until it’s fully covered. Knot it securely at the back.
Create the Web: Instead of traditional string, use a thicker, fluffier wool. Tie it to the hoop and start weaving a loose, open web inside the circle. There’s no right or wrong pattern—just criss-cross until you like the look.
Add Texture: Here’s the modern twist! Create small wool pom-poms or use a technique called “finger knitting” to make braided strands. Attach these to the bottom of the hoop as tassels.
Finish: Attach a loop of yarn at the top for hanging.
The result is a soft, cozy, and incredibly stylish piece of wall art that adds warmth and texture to any room. What color scheme will you choose for yours?
