How to make CD collage

Got a stack of old CDs collecting dust? Don’t recycle them—turn them into a dazzling, retro-chic piece of wall art! A CD collage is a fantastic way to upcycle while creating something that catches the light beautifully. I made one for my home studio, and the rainbow reflections it throws around the room are just magical.

Your Step-by-Step Guide:

Gather & Clean: Collect your old CDs. Give them a good wipe with a glass cleaner to remove any dust or fingerprints.

Break Them Up: This is the cathartic part! Place the CDs in a thick cloth bag and gently break them into interesting shards using a hammer. Please wear safety glasses for this step.

Design Your Layout: On a canvas or a sturdy board, arrange the CD shards like a mosaic. Play with the reflective sides to create a pattern or an abstract design.

Glue It Down: Using a strong adhesive like E6000 or a hot glue gun, carefully glue each piece onto the canvas.

Fill the Gaps: You can leave it as is for a fragmented look or fill the gaps with grout for a more traditional mosaic finish.

Hang your creation in a sunny spot and watch it sparkle! It’s a conversation piece that’s both eco-friendly and stunning.

Draw the figure on card board (already painted with light green or blue & dry) body upper parts colour with black.
