How to Make Pearl Drop Earrings
Making your own pearl drop earrings is not only easy, it’s incredibly satisfying. You can create a high-end-looking pair for a fraction of the cost! I made a simple pearl and gold pair for a wedding last month and received endless compliments.

You’ll need: 2 pearl beads (with pre-drilled holes), 4 gold or silver jump rings, 2 earring hooks, 2 head pins, and chain-nose pliers.

The 5-Minute Process:

String the Pearl: Slide a pearl onto a head pin.

Create the Loop: Using your pliers, bend the wire above the pearl at a 90-degree angle. Then, grip the very end of the wire and curl it into a small, neat loop that closes completely.

Assemble the Drop: Open a jump ring and slide on the pearl’s loop and one end of a smaller chain (optional for extra detail). Close the jump ring securely.

Attach the Hook: Open another jump ring, connect it to the first one, and then attach the earring hook. Close it, and you’re done!

Pro Tip: For a modern twist, mix pearl types. A matte baroque pearl with a shiny, round cultured pearl creates amazing texture and depth.
