How to make tribal mask from plastic bottle for wall art
Before you recycle that large plastic bottle, turn it into powerful wall art! Creating a tribal mask is a fantastic upcycling project that adds a global, textural element to any room.
Let’s Sculpt:
Create the Base: Cut the bottom third off a large plastic bottle (like a 2-liter soda bottle). This curved piece becomes the face.
Build the Features: Use other bottle scraps, cardboard, or even air-dry clay to build up the facial features—a strong nose, brow line, and lips. Attach everything with a strong glue gun.
Paint & Embellish: Prime with white paint, then use acrylics to paint bold, tribal patterns. Finally, add texture with raffia hair, feathers, or beans glued on as detailing.
This project is more about expression than perfection. It’s a conversation piece that’s full of character and saves plastic from the landfill.
