Ribbon embroidery is my secret weapon for adding a luxurious, 3D touch to a plain kurta without the hassle of traditional thread work. The satin ribbon gives a beautiful, dimensional petal that looks complex but is surprisingly simple.
Lovely Satin Ribbon Flower Kurta Designs
The easiest flower to start with is the classic ribbon rose:
Thread a wide satin ribbon (about 1cm) onto a needle with a large eye.
Anchor the center: Make a small stitch to secure the ribbon end.
Create petals: Now, simply loop and twist the ribbon, making small stitches at the base of each loop to form ruffled, overlapping petals. Work in a circular motion.
Finish: Secure the end underneath and fluff the petals with your needle.
A cluster of these in a corner of the neckline or down the placket looks incredibly elegant and is totally on-trend with the move towards tactile, textural embellishments.
