The Polan stitch (or Polan star) is a beautiful, woven stitch that creates a dense, textured fill perfect for flower centers or leaves. It looks intricate but is based on a simple grid.
Weave a Textured Flower Center:
Create a Grid: Stitch a small square of vertical and then horizontal parallel lines to form a # symbol.
Weave the Thread: Using a blunt tapestry needle, weave your thread under and over the bars of the grid you created.
Fill the Shape: Keep weaving until the grid is completely filled and you have a beautiful, textured diamond shape.
