Different types of designer kurtis have so many things on count which made them actually designer. Whether it their collar line, neckline, border work, choicest fabric material, stud material or different types of sleeves, designer kurtis have always gained the spotlight under the wide roof of types of ethnic wear. Sleeves acts as charm device for different types of ethnic wear.
This combination is a masterclass in texture and detail! Pin tucks are tiny, stitched folds that add subtle dimension, while dori gathers (corded shirring) create soft, adjustable fullness. Together, they create a sleeve that is pure, high-fashion artistry.
How to Incorporate These Elements:
Pin Tucks First: On your sleeve pattern piece, mark parallel lines where you want the tucks. Sew along these lines, folding the fabric under as you go, to create the raised tucks. Press them flat.
Add the Dori Channels: Now, sew two parallel lines of stitching where you want the gathers, creating a channel. Thread a cord (dori) through the channel using a bodkin or safety pin.
Gather & Secure: Gently pull the cords to gather the fabric to your desired fullness. Distribute the gathers evenly and secure the ends of the cords so they don’t pull out.
This technique is perfect for the cuff of a full sleeve or the cap of a puff sleeve, adding incredible designer detail that is sure to impress.
In this section I Will show you designer sleeve with pin tucks and dori gathers.
