Easy mirror work design on kurti

Shisha (mirror work) embroidery can look intimidating, but it’s actually one of the easiest ways to add glamour to a plain kurti. You don’t need to be a master embroiderer to get a beautiful result.

The Beginner-Friendly Method:

Choose Your Mirrors: Start with small, pre-cut round or hexagon mirrors. You can find these at any craft store.

The Simple Stitch: The easiest way to attach them is with the buttonhole stitch.

Place the mirror on the fabric.

Come up from the back right next to the mirror.

Loop the thread around the edge, making small, tight stitches that blanket the mirror’s edge and hold it securely in place.

Design: Don’t try a complex pattern. A simple cluster of three mirrors near the neckline, or a line of them along the cuff, is incredibly effective. I often suggest this to clients who want to personalize a ready-made kurti.

It’s a simple technique that catches the light beautifully and adds a handmade, artisan touch to your outfit.
