How to embroider a silk ribbon blackthorn flower arrangement for saree
Silk ribbon embroidery adds a stunning, three-dimensional luxury to a saree’s pallu or border. The Blackthorn flower, with its delicate white blossoms on dark branches, is a gorgeous and symbolic choice (it represents hope and resilience).
A Beginner-Friendly Approach:
Transfer the Design: Lightly trace a few winding branches onto your saree’s fabric using a water-soluble pen.
Embroider the Branches: Use a single strand of dark brown or black embroidery floss and a simple stem stitch to create the thin, twisting branches.
Create the Blossoms: This is where the magic happens! Thread a needle with white or very pale pink 4mm silk ribbon. Bring the needle up through the fabric where you want a flower.
