How to Make Paper Bags Using Paper Sheets
Ditch the plastic and make your own custom gift bags in minutes! I started making these for birthday gifts, and they’re so much more personal than store-bought ones. Plus, you can size them perfectly for any present.

You’ll need: A sheet of sturdy paper (wrapping paper, scrapbook paper, or even a painted newspaper page), a ruler, scissors, and double-sided tape (or glue).

The No-Sew, Easy Fold Method:

Measure & Cut: Determine your desired bag size. Cut your paper to size: the height of the bag, plus a few inches for the top cuff, and twice the width, plus an extra inch for a glue flap.

Fold & Stick: Fold the paper in half, bringing the two sides together. On one side, fold over a half-inch flap—this is where you’ll apply your double-sided tape. Stick the sides together to form a tube.

Create the Base: Push the bottom of the tube inward to create a flat base. Fold the edges over and secure them with tape to form a sturdy bottom.

Make the Handles: Punch two holes near the top. Thread through a piece of ribbon or a strip of coordinating paper, and knot it on the inside.

Decorate with stamps, drawings, or pressed flowers for an extra special touch.
