• Colored Papers (Green & Pink)
• Scissors
• Glue
• Thread

Paper Lotus Lantern Hanging Craft Tutorial

Step #1: Taking Green Color Paper

Take a piece of green paper. Now cut it into a square shape with the help of scissors.

Step #2: Folding Green Color Paper

Now fold the green paper in half.

Step #3: Folding Again From Sides

Now fold the side corner of the half-folded paper from the left & right sides to the bottom towards the middle line in triangle shape.

Step #4: Folding From Top Side

Now fold the upper part of folded paper to the bottom side.

Step #5: Folding Other Side of Paper

Do the same process with other part of green paper which is not folded.

Step #6: Doing the Same Process With Pink Color Paper

Now we have two same pieces one is green & the other one is pink.

Step #7: Taking Both Folded Papers

Now we take some more papers of green & pink color and make some more pieces like above image by following the same procedure.

Step #8: Taking More Colored Papers With Same Process

Apply the same process and make more pink pages than green pages. Take a pink piece and put it over another pink then take a green piece and put it under those pink pieces. Follow this step and do the same with the other pieces. Every two pink pieces will have one green piece.

Step #9: Tying All Colored Papers Together

Take all pieces together, and hold them from the middle part. Now take a pink thread and wrap around the paper.

Step #10: Knotting Pink Thread on the Paper

Tie the pink thread on the middle of all the pieces.

Step #11: Separating Papers After Knotting Thread

Now separate all the pieces from each other & make it like a flower.

Step #12: Unfolding Pink Paper to Make Petals

Unfold the first layer of the pink paper and make it look like lotus petal. In this don’t turn the green paper.

Step #13: Unfolding All Pink Papers Into Lotus Petals

Follow the same procedure with all the other pink paper petals.

Step #14: Doing the Same Process With Green Paper

Now take the green paper part from under the flower, and unfold them outside from the bottom.

Step #15: After Unfolding the Papers Lotus Will Look Like This

The lotus will look like this after unfolding all the colored papers.

Step #16: Cutting Another Pink Paper in Thin Stripes

Now take a piece of pink paper & cut it from the bottom side not completely but into small strips with the help of scissors.

Step #17: Pasting Thread on the Top of Stripes Paper

Now paste a thread on the top of the strips paper with the help of glue.

Step #18: Rolling Paper to the Thread

Now roll the upper part of the strip paper inside the direction of the thread.

Step #19: Attaching Thread to the Bottom of Lotus

Now add some colored beads in thread and attach the thread from the bottom of the lotus.

Finally, Paper Lotus Lantern Hanging is Ready!
