For a bridal blouse, drama is key! Three-tiered layered sleeves create a luxurious, romantic, and fashion-forward silhouette that’s perfect for a wedding day. I designed a version of this for a bride who wanted a “princess feel,” and it photographed beautifully.

The Construction Secret:

The magic isn’t in three full sleeves! It’s in creating two additional flounces that are attached to a full-length base sleeve.

The Base Sleeve: Cut a full, long sleeve as you normally would.

The Flounces: Cut two wide, curved strips of fabric. The length should be 1.5 times the circumference of your sleeve where you want to attach them (this creates the gather). Hem one long edge of each flounce.

Attach: Gather the unfinished edge of each flounce and stitch them onto the base sleeve, one above the other. The bottom flounce should be the longest.

This builds volume and movement without the complexity of attaching multiple full sleeves.
