Unique Neck Design Cutting and Stitching
Forget the basic round neck! The easiest way to make a kurti look designer is with a unique neckline. My current favorite, which is surprisingly simple to execute, is the Off-Shoulder One-Sleeve design. It’s fashion-forward, flattering, and easier than it looks.

Here’s the simplified breakdown:

The Cut: Draft your front and back kurti patterns as usual. Now, on the front piece only, draw a deep, curved line from one armpit, up and across the chest, to a point on the opposite shoulder. You can cut the shoulder strap off entirely or leave a wide strap.

The Facing is Key: This style requires a full facing for the entire front neckline to keep its shape and lie flat. Cut an identical piece from lining fabric.

Stitch & Turn: Sew the facing to the neckline, right sides together. Clip the curves, turn the facing inward, and understitch to keep it from peeking out.

Finish: The back and the other sleeve remain classic. The dramatic asymmetry of the front does all the talking.

Pair this neckline with simple, solid fabric and maybe some delicate embroidery on the sleeve for a truly show-stopping outfit.
