How to lazy daisy hand embroidery stitch
The Lazy Daisy stitch is the friendliest, most rewarding stitch for a beginner. It’s basically a single chain stitch, and it’s perfect for creating delicate flowers, leaves, and whimsical patterns. I taught this to my niece to decorate a pillowcase, and she was hooked!
Let’s Break It Down:
Step 1: Bring your needle up through the fabric at point A (this will be the center of your petal).
Step 2: Now, push the needle back down at point A, but don’t pull the thread all the way through yet. Leave a loop on the surface.
Step 3: Bring your needle back up at point B (this determines the petal length), inside the loop.
Step 4: Gently pull the thread through, shaping the loop into a nice petal. Secure the loop by making a tiny stitch over its end.
And that’s it! Make a circle of them for a flower, or a line of them for a charming vine. It’s a simple stitch that adds a beautiful, handcrafted dimension to any project.
