DIY Newspaper Wall Decor Craft Tutorial
Newspaper is one of my favorite crafting materials—it’s free, abundant, and has a great texture. I rolled and shaped newspaper into a large, botanical-inspired wall art piece, and everyone thinks it’s expensive pressed metal!
The Rolled Paper Technique:
Make Your “Sticks”: Roll sheets of newspaper tightly around a skewer, gluing the end to secure it. Make dozens of these.
Shape & Build: Now, shape these sticks into your design. You can:
Coil them into spirals for a rustic sunburst mirror frame.
Flatten and glue them in a herringbone pattern for a modern look.
Cut them into smaller pieces and create a mosaic or geometric pattern.
Finish: Paint your entire creation. For a unified look, use a single color—metallic gold or copper looks incredibly chic and hides the newsprint, while whitewash lets the text subtly show through for a shabby-chic vibe.
Seal it with mod podge or varnish. It’s lightweight, eco-friendly, and proves that amazing art doesn’t have to be expensive.
Hey friends.. Just wondering what to do with old newspapers !! Then this project is a right choice for you. Just using newspapers and some very easily available materials, we are going to make a simple and beautiful DIY Wall Decor.
