Watermelon Painting Instructions

Step #1: Making A Spiral

Begin this artwork by taking a white circular paper sheet as the base for this artwork and a red sketch pen. Using the red sketch pen, start to make a spiral at the center of the base and complete it by keeping it in a circle on the base.

Step #2: Painting Over The Spiral

Dip a rounded paintbrush into water and using it, paint over the spiral circle on the base. You will see the sketch colors are spreading out as the paint. The shaded circle will be the watermelon center.

Step #3: Making Watermelon Slices

Using the red sketch pen, make the triangle watermelon slices on the sides of the watermelon and make random strokes in them.

Step #4: Painting The Watermelon Slices

In the same way as before, dip the paintbrush into water and paint it over the sketch pen lines i.e. drawn watermelon slices.

Step #5: Making The Green Skin Of Watermelon

Using a green sketch pen, outline the red watermelon part to make the green skin of it. Make the skin broader from the bottom side of the watermelon.

Step #6: Making Stripey Texture On The Skin

Scatter the green sketch pen using the water-dipped paintbrush and then using a dark green marker, make the vertical stripes over the green skin of the watermelon.

Step #7: Making Skin Of Watermelon Slices And Making Stems

In the same way, make the skins below the watermelon slices as you make the skin of the watermelon circle. Now, using the light green sketch pen, make the spring stem from below the watermelon piece. See the image for reference.

Step #8: Making Leaves And Seeds Of The Watermelon

Make the wide leaves of the watermelon using the light green sketch pen, one below the watermelon circle and the other above it randomly and a wavy stem below it, spread the color of them too using the water-dipped paintbrush. Now, using the black pen, draw the drop-shaped seeds in the red part of the watermelon and its slices. See the image for reference.

This Is The Final Look Of Your Watermelon Sketch Painting!

For the last step, shade the upper leaf with the dark green sketch pen too and then using the black pen, make the leaf veins over the leaves.
