- Construction Paper (Red, Light Brown, Yellow)
- Scissors
- Double Sided Tape
Chinese Lantern Craft Instructions
Step #1: Making A Zig-Zag Pattern
First, we take a light brown construction paper & cut it into a circle by using scissors & use it as a base.
Take a red construction paper & cut it into a rectangle shape. Start making folds in a zig-zag pattern. Continue until the whole red paper is folded.
Step #2: Pressing To Make Sharp Fold
Now, press the red folded paper with your fingers to make sharp folds.
Step #3: Opening Folded Paper
open the zig-zag pattern from the bottom side.
Step #4: Pasting Double Sided Tape
Take a double-sided tape & apply on the bottom side of the folded paper
Step #5: Pasting Zig Zag Pattern On Light Brown Paper
Now, paste it on the top left side of the light brown paper.
Step #6: Making More Zig-Zag Pattern
Make three more zig-zag patterns by following the same procedure as we mentioned above. Now, paste them one by one on the left side of the brown paper.
Step #7: Making A Small Paper Strip
Take red paper & cut a small strip using scissors & paste it on the top of the first zig-zag strip.
Step #8: Making Roll Of Red Paper
Use red paper & roll it to make a stick & paste it over the red strip by putting its lower end a little tilted downside.
Step #9: Making Tassel
Take red paper & cut it into a rectangle shape & then fold it & After that cut it into small red strips from the bottom of it but not completely using scissors & then cut a small strip of red paper. Wrap a tassel around that small strip & use thread at the end of it. Now paste it under the zig-zag strips.
